Description
Learn how to crochet the Alpine crochet stitch. The Alpine Stitch is so beautifully textured using front post double crochets worked around stitches from a previous row creating a very unique and textured look. This stitch would be beautiful in so many different projects – blankets, hats, scarves, and so much more! Traditionally, you would work a front post double crochet around the double crochet stitch from the just worked previous row. For the Alpine Stitch, you are skipping over the previous row of single crochet stitches and working your FPdc around the double crochet stitch row before that. This “crunches” your stitch slightly adding to the texture as well.
Pattern includes instructions for a 7″x 7″ square + 8″ x 8″ square worked in medium worsted weight yarn as well as the stitch multiple information to take this stitch to different projects!
